Profile

Loke Diagnostics ApS is specialized in production of biotechnological products: recombinant proteins, defined synthetic peptides, monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies. In combination, these products are used in contract-based projects for development of diagnostic tests, and for vaccine - and drug development.
Loke Diagnostics ApS is specialized in determination of specific antigenic bacterial and viral proteins for use in ELISA-based sero-diagnostic assays and for production of specific antibodies. Antigen production is based on extracts from microorganisms, production of recombinant proteins and on synthetic peptides. The antigens are selected to have a high binding affinity to ELISA plates and to serum antibodies.
Monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies are produced by immunization of mice or rabbits with recombinant proteins or peptides. The antibodies are tested for reactivity with native microbial surface, for reactivity in paraffin embedded sectioned tissue samples, and for reactivity in ELISA and immunoblotting. The generated monoclonal antibodies can be selected to discriminate between isoforms/mutation/and cleavage sites of a protein or peptide (Axelsen et al. 2009)
We also produce antigens and antibodies to eukaryotic proteins using the same technologies. The scientists who started Loke Diagnostics have backgrounds as University professors: The director, Svend Birkelund, is professor at Department of Health Science and Technology at Aalborg University, Gunna Christiansen is professor in medical molecular microbiology at Department of Biomedicine - Medical Microbiology & Immunology -, Aarhus University and Arne Holm was professor at Department of Chemistry, The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Copenhagen, Denmark.
Currently Loke Diagnostics is involved in the development of diagnostic tools for analyzing infections caused by pathogenic bacteria and virus, and in development of tools for detection and prevention of neurodegenerative diseases.
